Play a key role in delivering the Group's first hedge accounting programme.
Take ownership of derivative accounting, valuation, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with IFRS 9 and IFRS 13 across a diverse portfolio of financial hedges, PPAs, and intercompany power contracts.
Work closely with Finance, Risk, Trading, and Front Office teams to translate complex trading activity into accurate financial reporting while supporting the continued development of the Group's hedge accounting framework.
Requirements
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with post-qualification experience in derivatives or financial instruments accounting, ideally within the energy, utilities or commodities sector;
Proven hands-on experience of IFRS 9 hedge accounting, including hedge designation and documentation, effectiveness testing, cash flow hedges, and accounting for OCI reserves;
Strong technical knowledge of IFRS 9, IFRS 13 and IFRS 7, including fair value measurement, financial instrument disclosures, own-use exemption, and fair value option elections;
Experience accounting for and reporting on derivative financial instruments, with a good understanding of products such as PPAs, forwards, and power contracts, and their treatment under IFRS 9.
