Role Overview
- Performs and documents assessment of the patient/family (biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual and environmental)
- Collects and analyzes data from the medical record to coordinate patient care
- Directs and/or provides patient care, which may include administering medication, performing procedures, and monitoring patient status
- Provides counsel and education to patients/family regarding disease process and symptom management
- Maintains medical records requiring timely recording of patient information
- Consults with members of the health care team, adjusting nursing care processes as indicated
- Demonstrates cost-effective work habits by setting priorities and managing supplies
- Assists health care provider with examinations, procedures, prescription refills
- Participates in quality improvement activities to ensure appropriate clinical outcome
- Performs other duties as outlined in specialty-specific job responsibilities
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Completion of National Specialty Certification relevant to the area where working, if applicable
- Current Missouri RN licensure in accordance with Compact Act
- Basic Life Support certification
- Advanced clinical skills (e.g., PALS, ACLS, IV Certification, Bone Marrow Biopsy)
- Clinical Specialty (2 Years)
- No driver's license is required for this position
