Independently work with clients to prepare compliance documentation, including export, FCC, and NOAA license applications, classification analyses, technology control plans, registration statements, annual and semi-annual reports, and other compliance program documentation.
Train and oversee the work of case assistants on export controls and FCC licensing.
Track regulatory developments, support engagement with regulators, prepare and edit internal guidance, create client alerts, and other substantive non-billable materials.
Support business development efforts through development of pitch materials, attendance at aerospace and defense industry-focused conferences, and development of client alerts related to national security, trade topics and other regulatory matters.
Support other team projects on an as needed basis.
Maintain compliance with all firm policies and procedures.
8+ years of relevant experience handling international trade compliance, FCC licensing, and other national security and related regulatory matters in a corporate compliance department or law firm required
Expertise in managing in-house compliance programs, including management of international trade and FCC compliance matters
Experience managing a team of compliance professionals preferred
Must possess a high level of attention to detail and be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Stellar project management and organizational skills
Must possess good judgment, intuition and problem solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients
Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).
