Supports activities of the Finance Department by performing specialized administrative, accounting and financial reporting tasks related to the CNI treasury function.
Supports the Controller in liquidity management performing treasury functions including bank reconciliations, processing electronic payment requests, monitoring and forecasting cash flow, and analyzing bank fees.
Completes treasury related reporting and performs additional accounting functions.
Performs daily cash positioning activities including managing daily liquidity between multiple accounts and monthly bank reporting.
Maintains strong relationships and open communication with banks and other financial service providers to optimize treasury function.
Coordinates the opening, maintenance, and closure of bank accounts.
Ensures the accurate and timely execution of wire transfers and payment processing.
Monitors compliance with internal policies and external regulations such as quarterly bank compliance certificates.
Provides information in connection with the external and internal audits by monitoring cash management activities to ensure compliance.
Assists with monitoring investment opportunities to maximize returns on surplus funds.
Identifies opportunities to automate workflows and enhance data accuracy.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required in finance, accounting, economics or related field
Two to five (2-5) years of experience in treasury, finance, accounting or related roles
Advanced Excel skills
Proficiency with TMSs and ERP systems
Proficiency in accounting and treasury principles
Experience with Costpoint and banking portals (preferred)
Relevant certifications (preferred): MBA, CTP, CPA, CFA
