Design and develop mechanical systems and mechanisms, including performing analysis and trade studies to optimize performance, efficiency, and manufacturability
Execute detailed engineering design work in accordance with established standards, procedures, and program requirements
Collaborate with internal teams to support system integration, assembly, and testing activities
Partner with external vendors by defining requirements, reviewing designs, and tracking development progress
Develop and maintain mechanical documentation, including requirements, drawings, interface definitions, and test procedures
Define and validate mechanical interfaces between subsystems and components
Support qualification testing (e.g., vibration, thermal, environmental) and evaluate results
Troubleshoot hardware issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
Present technical findings and design updates during reviews with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Identify and implement process improvements, new technologies, or innovative design approaches
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
A minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design and analysis, preferably involving complex systems or hardware development
Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred)
Additional experience in aerospace, space systems, or other high-performance environments (preferred)
Familiarity with multidisciplinary systems involving electrical or software components (preferred)
Experience supporting hardware through full lifecycle (design to testing and delivery) (preferred)
