About this role
Role Overview
Responsible for safety on board on vessels.
Ensure compliance with international rules and regulations.
Assist in SSE responsibilities for assigned vessels.
Ensure implementation of safety management systems.
Monitor and report performance improvement plans.
Conduct audits and investigations onboard vessels.
Provide training for shore and ship staff.
Liaise with flag administrations and classification societies.
Requirements
Strong SSE culture.
Experience in accident investigation on board.
Fluent in English both written and spoken.
Previous experience as officer (officer licenses preferred) or in shipping industry.
Good communicator with presentation skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment.
Physical condition allows performing audit onboard.
No restriction to travel abroad.

Assist in SSE responsibilities for his assigned vessels.
Perform on duty tasks when assigned.
Ensure the implementation of the Integrated Management System and the Ship Security Plan.
Ensure the communication between ashore departments and the vessels.
Ensure the assigned vessels are properly manned, maintained, equipped and in seaworthy condition.
Responsible for SSE audit or inquiry onboard assigned and designated vessel.
Monitor corrective and preventive actions.
Investigate when accidents occur onboard.
Perform training of shore department and ship staff.
Participate in the regulations monitoring.
Be the contact point of the flag administrations and support Fleet department with the classification societies (RO).
Participate in the Emergency Response Team when concerned.
