Provide platform-level management of the security department that keeps employees safe and world-class technologies and facilities secure
Standardize the QTS security posture to include the protection of physical assets, technology, facilities, equipment, products, and services
Supervise security professionals and contract employees
Responsible for QTS domestic and future overseas security operations reporting to SVP, Corporate Security
Directly manage and lead the Regional Security Managers
Assist with the hiring of new Security Managers across the QTS enterprise
Develop and maintain policies, procedures, Basis of Designs (BODs), and standards for Portfolio Physical Security strategies
Communicate updates to key partners on incidents, emerging risks, and other issues
Partner with Facilities and other units to identify safety and security deficiencies and develop compliance policies
Manage vendors providing guard force and penetration testing services
Establish and monitor performance metrics to determine team effectiveness
Deliver training on security topics and support incident investigation efforts
Participate in security audit and compliance controls such as ISO 17799, ISO 27001 Frameworks, HITRUST, SOX, SOC 1 & 2, and relevant PCI requirements
Develop and maintain working relationships with Local Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS
Perform data analysis and create benchmarking to support risk assessments and threat identification
Assist in budget forecasting and manage organization within existing budget parameters
Participate in readiness assessments of potential new sites and existing buildings
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent professional experience
Ten or more years of security operations experience in a fast paced corporate environment
Ten or more years of experience in a management or security advisor role
Ten or more years of experience with security technologies including CCTV, Access Control, Incident Management Systems, and Security Operations Centers
Familiar with emergency procedure protocols and regulatory interfaces
Demonstrated understanding of best practices in physical security strategies, principles, standards, policies and procedures
Ten or more years of experience conducting investigations including criminal, human resources, and safety incidents
Ability to walk, stand, and sit for 8-12 hours per day
