Maintenance Technician

Role Overview

• Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment across Bioresources sites
• Ensure that all systems run efficiently and safely
• Support the production of biomethane gas, electricity, and biosolids in line with environmental regulations and industry standards
• Collaborate with internal teams across Bioresources and Wastewater Recycling
• Take part in a standby rota
• Carry out hands-on tasks such as fabrication, welding, lubrication, and operating workshop machinery
• Diagnose faults and perform inspections
• Monitor treatment systems using SCADA and respond to alarms
• Ensure compliance with lifting operations and safety regulations

Requirements

• A Level 3 NVQ in mechanical engineering is essential for this role
• Strong understanding of health and safety in high-risk environments
• Experience maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
• Experience managing contractors and suppliers
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Comfortable using IT tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records
