Role Overview
Perform both conceptual and detailed civil engineering design, including site layout, grading, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and utility design.
Support geotechnical investigations, including field coordination, soil/rock data review, and interpretation of subsurface conditions.
Assist in the preparation of geotechnical reports, recommendations, and design considerations for foundations, slopes and earthwork.
Support design and permitting efforts for municipal & residual waste facilities, including landfills, transfer stations, and related infrastructure.
Prepare and review engineering plans, technical specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and reports.
Support project execution by assisting with scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of project tasks and resources.
Track project progress and manage deliverables to ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Assist with permitting and approvals, coordinating with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to advance projects from design through construction.
Participate in client, contractor, and regulatory meetings; document key decisions and follow up on action items.
Contribute to proposal development, scope definition, and client presentations.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including budgets, schedules, and progress reporting within internal systems.
Actively pursue professional development and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
2+ years of relevant experience in land development, geotechnical, residual waste or related civil engineering projects.
Experience with PADEP permitting processes and coordination is preferred.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with HydroCAD and HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS preferred.
Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Commitment to safety and understanding of safe work practices.
