Develop materials including fact sheets, letters of support, talking points, action alerts, reports and other content in support of policy efforts
Draft educational and timely communications about puppy mills for ASPCA website, social and email.
Request and analyze public records, published research and industry reports
Support development external and internal presentations and memos
Contribute to planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation of team’s projects and outcomes
Monitor state and federal legislation, regulations, agency actions, and key legal cases; identify relevant developments and share timely updates with internal stakeholders.
Maintain information tracking systems and databases to support internal planning, organization, and coordination.
Maintain and update progress against department goals
Respond to external and internal inquiries
Perform administrative tasks as needed or other functions as might be required for Puppy Mill Initiative
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant working experience, required
3 years working (including academic study) in public policy, advocacy, education, research and content development, and awareness campaigns or other related fields required
Strong research skills
Strong communication skills – able to effectively communicate complex information simply, in writing and speaking, to diverse internal and external audiences
Analytical and creative thinking abilities
Ability to work collaboratively across departments
Strong ability to multitask and efficiently support multiple projects/campaigns at once
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Proficiency with Airtable and Canva preferred.
Ability to exemplify ASPCA’s core values and behavioral competencies.
