Medical Assistant – Subspecialty Coordination Specialist

Role Overview

• Support the Sports Cardiology Program
• Provide coordination services to patients within designated sub-specialty populations
• Perform clinical assistance and diagnostic testing within the MA scope of practice
• Assist families to address/resolve questions/concerns
• Manage patient information, QI projects, and research data for ambulatory patients

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Minimum of two (2) years of healthcare experience
• Medical Assistant – Certified designation by Washington Department of Health (DOH)
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
• Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program (preferred)
• Current National Medical Assistant Association Certification (eligible for premium, preferred)
• Bachelor’s Degree or at least two (2) years of college coursework in health care or related field (preferred)
• Significant experience working with the general public in a healthcare/customer service environment (preferred)
• Knowledge and experience with healthcare payor authorizations (preferred)
• Familiarity with other cultures/bilingual skills (preferred)
