Lead the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of regional strategies relating to capacity, access, and patient flow.
Use provincial and regional data to identify service gaps, risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement, then translate those insights into targeted interventions and concrete action plans.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with hospitals, health service providers, physicians, patients and caregivers, ministry partners, Ontario Health teams, and internal teams to promote coordinated, collaborative solutions.
Facilitate engagement, co-creation, and change management activities that enable partners to adopt new approaches and advance shared system priorities.
Develop performance measures, track progress, and evaluate outcomes to support evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement.
Represent the region at planning and coordination tables by bringing deep system knowledge, policy understanding, and pragmatic recommendations to guide priorities, best practices, and resource decisions.
Anticipate and manage emerging issues by convening partners, determining solutions, and supporting initiatives that improve access, quality, equity, and patient-centered care.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Health Administration, Health Planning, Business Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a healthcare environment.
Clinical experience is considered an asset.
At least 8 years of progressive experience in a multi-stakeholder healthcare environment, including a minimum of 5 years in leadership or management of teams (directly or indirectly), along with strong relationship-building and management skills.
Experience in the hospital or acute care sector is an asset.
Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to inspire teams and collaborate with organizational partners to enable change while fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.
Strong project management experience, including demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and effectively manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with limited supervision or direction.
Proven ability to collaborate across functions, lead large internal and external project teams, and build consensus where outcomes impact change management.
Ability to work independently and autonomously while taking responsibility for one’s actions.
Ability to prepare presentation materials and deliver presentations on technical and/or sensitive information to diverse audiences.
Ability to exercise sound judgment on sensitive and controversial matters and to negotiate to reach consensus around complex strategic approaches.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
