About this role
Role Overview
Assemble mechanical components of wind turbines using hand tools, power tools, and overhead cranes.
Follow detailed work instructions and engineering drawings to ensure accurate builds.
Perform torquing, alignment, and fit-up of large components such as gearboxes, bearings, and shafts.
Conduct safety inspections and maintain a clean, organized work area to present work related injuries.
Exceed our production benchmarks by completing specific tasks within the designated timeframe, playing a key role in the collective success of our team objectives.
Handle materials by lifting, positioning, and/or removing them from the work area as needed.
Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to improve assembly processes.
Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support other production areas as needed and as assigned by the supervisor.
In coordination with PQA and Engineering Departments, conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting of potential production problems.
Assist electrical assembly operators as required.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Mechanical certifications or technical training
3+ years of experience in mechanical assembly or heavy manufacturing
Ability to read work instructions
Experience in wind turbine, automotive, or industrial equipment assembly
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience
Commitment to safety and quality standards
Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
Strong work ethic and dedication to completing tasks
Responsible and accountable for actions and decisions
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow
Ability to read mechanical blueprints and technical documentation
Experience with overhead crane operation
Ability to achieve and maintain crane operator certification (Required)
Proficiency in using torque tools, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, and measuring instruments
Must be able to pass a respiratory fit test (as Required)
Working at heights
Understanding of ISO 9000:2000 Quality System is a plus
