Role Overview
Support real estate counsel on land acquisition, title review, easements, rights-of-way, lease negotiations, and landowner relations for renewable energy projects.
Assist development attorneys with M&A and due diligence activities and project development matters, including permitting, interconnection, environmental compliance, and stakeholder relations for renewable energy and battery storage projects.
Work alongside project counsel to support the construction phase of energy projects, including drafting and negotiating EPC contracts, managing project-level legal issues that arise during construction, and supporting late state project financing.
Collaborate with commercial attorneys on power purchase agreements (PPAs), energy storage agreements, hedging arrangements, and other commercial contracts.
Support finance counsel on project financing transactions, including tax equity, debt financing.
Requirements
Strong academic credentials and demonstrated interest in energy, infrastructure, or transactional law.
Renewable energy experience; wind energy, battery storage or general infrastructure project development experience a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team.
Ability to adapt to a variety of duties and often challenging tasks.
