On-Call Medical Assistant – Certified/Uncertified

Role Overview

• Provide Patient follow-up (i.e.: after visit instructions, setting appointments, patient education, communicate normal lab results and reminder phone calls)
• Support back office clinic flow and time management for providers
• Prepare patients for exams and procedures
• Review immunizations, forecast and administer immunizations for clients of all ages
• Perform medical treatments such as simple wound care, ear irrigations, suture removal and fluoride treatments
• Ensure the exam room is stocked, cleaned and ready for use
• Provide back-up lab duties including phlebotomy and processing labs
• Complete assigned Quality Control/Assurance activities
• Provide back-up to the preventative MA

Requirements

• Requires graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program
• Certification through a nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification program, such as AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or CCMA, is required
• CPR certification is required (valid CPR certification must be provided upon hire)
• Candidates may be required to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting
