Quality Assurance Engineer

NextGen Coding Company is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing and quality assurance processes, focusing on ensuring high-quality software products and collaborating with development teams to identify potential risks and challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive test plans, cases, and scripts to ensure high-quality software products
• Collaborate with development teams to understand project requirements and identify potential risks or challenges
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing across various applications and platforms
• Ensure API integrations function seamlessly by designing and executing detailed API testing
• Identify, document, and track defects using industry-standard tools, working closely with developers to resolve issues
• Automate test processes using tools and frameworks to improve efficiency and reliability in testing workflows
• Validate data pipelines, data transformations, and the accuracy of results in data engineering environments
• Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in QA tools and techniques, incorporating them into testing strategies
• Provide detailed reports on testing progress, coverage, and outcomes, ensuring stakeholders are informed
• Contribute to maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines, emphasizing quality gates and automated testing

Requirements:

• Must be USA-based and available during Eastern Time Zone business hours
• Four-year U.S. bachelor's degree required from an accredited U.S. institution
• No undergraduate education completed in India
• No international master's-only education profiles
• Proven experience as a QA Engineer or in a similar role in software development projects
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG)
• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI
• Experience working with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and validating data integrity in data engineering workflows
• Strong problem-solving skills, with an analytical mindset to troubleshoot issues effectively
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical details to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• NYC-based candidates strongly preferred
• Basic knowledge of blockchain, AI/ML, computer vision, or game development technologies is a plus
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is preferred
• Experience working on compliance, regulated, or data-sensitive systems preferred
• Strong discipline around QA validation, error handling, and production reliability
• Comfortable operating in a small, fast-moving engineering team
• Clear communicator capable of working with technical and non-technical stakeholders
