Lead Quality Engineer (Remote)

First Citizens Bank is undergoing a significant digital transformation aimed at modernizing customer service. The Lead Quality Engineer will be responsible for independent quality checks, developing testing strategies, and mentoring team members while ensuring high standards in software quality assurance.

Responsibilities:

• Experience in designing and building test automation scripts Selenium for CIAM and Fraud Solutions
• Design, develop, maintain automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, Cucumber and TestNG and establish frameworks, platforms, and tools for functional, end-to-end testing, performance and load testing, UI and API testing
• Perform Database validation and backend testing as required
• Ability to provide accurate project estimates and timelines
• Collaborates with developers and product teams to identify, document, and resolve defects
• Risk Management - Contributes to the mitigation of risk in the Information Technology organization by thoroughly testing and performing quality checks of existing programs, policies and procedures
• Excellent understanding of Software Quality Assurance Techniques and strong knowledge of SDLC and STLC

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Systems engineer and systems programmer OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Systems engineer and systems programmer
• Experience in designing and building test automation scripts Selenium for CIAM and Fraud Solutions
• Design, develop, maintain automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, Cucumber and TestNG and establish frameworks, platforms, and tools for functional, end-to-end testing, performance and load testing, UI and API testing
• Perform Database validation and backend testing as required
• Ability to provide accurate project estimates and timelines
• Collaborates with developers and product teams to identify, document, and resolve defects

• Strong knowledge of Java Programming using OOPS concepts
• Strong knowledge of enterprise systems and mobile application architecture
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, Playwright, Appium, and API testing frameworks)
• Experience with test documentation and defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, X-Ray, Test Ray)
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI or similar
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD environments and modern delivery practices
• Proven experience in test case development, defect management, and root cause analysis
