Sphere Technologies Inc. is an ambitious technology and growth company focused on challenger consumer brands. They are seeking a Lifecycle Marketing Manager who will own email and SMS as revenue-driving channels across the entire customer journey, developing strategies and executing lifecycle marketing for high-growth DTC/CPG brands.
Responsibilities:
- Develop full-funnel email and SMS communication strategies that map to the complete customer journey: awareness → consideration → purchase → retention → advocacy
- Define what messaging, content, and tactics are appropriate for customers at each lifecycle stage
- Build audience segmentation hierarchies based on behavior, purchase history, engagement, and lifecycle position
- Design trigger logic and cadences for automated customer journeys (welcome series, educational nurture, post-purchase onboarding, win-back, advocacy)
- Translate customer data and business goals into lifecycle roadmaps and campaign calendars
- Ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM, TCPA, CCPA, GDPR and other applicable regulations
- Collaborate with Growth and Data teams to align lifecycle strategy with paid acquisition, commerce operations, and broader growth initiatives
- Build, QA, and deploy email and SMS campaigns in Klaviyo (or similar ESPs)
- Write compelling, brand-aligned copy for campaigns, flows, and customer journeys
- Set up automation/flow logic, pop-up builds, and platform integrations (Shopify, subscription apps, loyalty platforms, etc.)
- Execute A/B tests across subject lines, content, timing, and segmentation strategies
- Coordinate with internal or external creative resources to develop templates and campaign assets
- Manage revision and approval processes with clients
- Report on channel performance across the full lifecycle: engagement metrics by stage, conversion rates, retention metrics, revenue contribution, list growth, and advocacy/referral impact
- Analyze customer progression through lifecycle stages and identify friction points or drop-off
- Monitor deliverability, engagement trends, and customer behavior to inform strategic pivots
- Provide actionable recommendations to improve performance and scale impact across all funnel stages
- Document learnings, test results, and best practices for internal knowledge sharing
Requirements:
- You've actively managed and executed lifecycle/retention campaigns in the last 12 months
- You are either currently working within a brand or agency hands on within the growth/marketing team
- 4-6 years in email/SMS or lifecycle marketing for DTC, e-commerce, or CPG brands
- Deep hands-on experience with Klaviyo or similar ESPs
- Experience working in a fast-paced agency, startup, or multi-brand environment
- Proven track record of building full-funnel communication programs that drive both customer acquisition support and retention/LTV growth
- Strategic thinker who can also execute hands-on — you don't just build campaigns, you design systems
- Strong copywriter with an eye for messaging that converts and builds loyalty
- Data-informed decision maker who can translate analytics into action
- Comfortable with compliance, data governance, and risk considerations
- Proficient in segmentation, automation logic, and lifecycle marketing frameworks
