Haag, a Salas O'Brien company, is a leader in forensic engineering and consulting since 1924, seeking an experienced Forensic Electrical Engineer. The role involves investigating and evaluating failures and damage to electrical systems in various settings, requiring strong technical writing and forensic investigation skills.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate and evaluate the root cause and extent of failures and damage to electrical systems, components, and devices in residential, commercial, and industrial settings
- Conduct forensic investigations of electrical failures, fires, and explosions
- Provide expert witness experience including depositions and trial testimony
- Author comprehensive forensic reports
- Travel locally, regionally, and nationally as needed
- Work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Requirements:
- Licensed P.E. in TX or eligible by reciprocity
- 5-10 years of experience designing or working with electrical systems in various settings
- Experience conducting forensic investigations of electrical failures, fires, and explosions
- Strong technical writing skills for authoring comprehensive forensic reports
- Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally as needed
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency with computers, cameras, and industry-related software applications
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or restrictions
- Must be willing and able to work in confined spaces, roofs, and industrial settings
- Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is required
- Additional active licensures in surrounding states are highly desirable
- At least 5 years of forensic engineering experience strongly preferred
- Expert witness experience including depositions and trial testimony
- CFEI (NAFI), CFI, or other relevant certifications preferred
- NCEES Record preferred for multi-state licensing
- Master of Science or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering is highly desirable
