Kavaliro is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead a dedicated team focused on building scalable data infrastructure. The role involves overseeing data engineering projects, optimizing workflows, and ensuring effective communication between teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a high-performing data engineering team by driving collaboration, growth, and accountability
- Set clear goals, provide strategic direction, and develop talent to ensure long-term success
- Manage and streamline team operations, bringing a deep understanding of data engineering challenges and optimizing workflows
- Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle of data engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and technical excellence
- Implement and refine engineering best practices using agile methodologies while continuously improving workflows, tools, and processes
- Act as a bridge between engineering and other teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities
- Translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for business stakeholders
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating innovative solutions that enhance data infrastructure, scalability, and performance
Requirements:
- Strong Communication skills
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 5+ years in a management role
- Proven track record of successfully leading data engineering teams and delivering complex projects
- Deep knowledge of data engineering, preferably with experience in Snowflake and data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, and Domo
- Strong understanding of data pipelines, data warehousing, and ETL processes
- Ability to manage and scale a team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Proven experience in performance management, mentorship, and career development
- Strong analytical thinking with excellent decision-making abilities
