About this role
Motorola Solutions is a global community focused on enhancing safety through technology. The Systems Engineer will design and implement public safety solutions for ASTRO 25 and related technologies, collaborating with various teams to ensure successful project execution and system acceptance.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implementation of the radio network including infrastructure, subscribers, mobile backhaul and WAN and CEN networks
- High level of customer and consultant interaction involving customer design reviews, customer witnessed staging and acceptance testing events, coverage acceptance testing, live system upgrades, and troubleshooting efforts
- System buildout, configuration and acceptance testing in both lab staging and field environments
- Radio coverage testing, frequency analysis and interference mitigation
- Radio system licensing (FCC/Industry)
- Preparation of system fleet map, encryption and radio programming templates
- Complete system documentation
- Live system cutovers and upgrades
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technical discipline and 5+ years of engineering or technical experience
- OR 8 years of engineering or technical experience
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
- Experience with Motorola ASTRO 25 architecture is a plus
- Certifications a plus through CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA-Junos, Nokia NRS1, CCNA or similar a plus
