Tetra Tech is an industry leader in Infrastructure Asset Management Services, and they are seeking a Structural Engineer to join their Asset Management team. The role involves supporting project managers with evaluations, managing subcontractors, and conducting technical analyses and reports for various infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
- Support project managers in evaluation of emerging and innovative technologies via research, design and testing of emergent technologies
- Management of subcontractors
- Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing
- Develop technical specifications, scopes and cost estimates to support procurement of subcontractors for vertical, horizontal, and infrastructure assets., and assist evaluation of bids and pricing
- Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals
- Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures (using GIS ad CADD staff)
- Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties
- Task and project management, including planning and implementing asset management projects, structural analysis, recommendations, structural design support, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability
- Business development; potentially including new and existing clients, leading proposal preparation
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards
- Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness
- Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns
- Occasional travel to client sites and other locations, as requested
- Other duties as may be assigned and may include periodic field work
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (BS) or master's degree (MS/MA) in structural, civil, mechanical engineering or related field
- 3-8 years directly related professional experience in environmental assessment and remediation related work
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Local Agency Check (NACLC) clearance from the Department of Defense (DoD) is required
- Ability to obtain U.S. Passport is required
- Successfully pass a Department of Motor Vehicles background
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimum Project Manager oversight while maintaining schedule
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required including technical report writing experience
- Familiarity with industrial, large office, and other large facility types
- Understanding of basic mathematical skills are required
- Candidates must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access or related database software)
- Professional engineer licensure or a path to achieve licensure within 3 years
- Experience working on Department of Defense projects
- Experience working with specifications software (e.g., SpecsIntact, CSI, etc.) and previous experience developing design drawings with the support of CADD designers
- Knowledge of specialized computer software needed for data evaluation and remediation design
- Familiarity using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is desired
