Motorola Solutions is a global community dedicated to enhancing safety through technology. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design and implementation of public safety solutions for government agencies, focusing on mission-critical communication systems. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure successful project execution and system acceptance.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implementation of the radio network including infrastructure, subscribers, mobile backhaul and WAN and CEN networks
- High level of customer and consultant interaction involving customer design reviews, customer witnessed staging and acceptance testing events, coverage acceptance testing, live system upgrades, and troubleshooting efforts
- System buildout, configuration and acceptance testing in both lab staging and field environments
- Radio coverage testing, frequency analysis and interference mitigation
- Radio system licensing (FCC/Industry)
- Preparation of system fleet map, encryption and radio programming templates
- Complete system documentation
- Live system cutovers and upgrades
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technical discipline and 5+ years of engineering or technical experience
- OR 8 years of engineering or technical experience
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
- Experience with Motorola ASTRO 25 architecture is a plus
- Certifications a plus through CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA-Junos, Nokia NRS1, CCNA or similar a plus
