About this role
Harnham is a private equity firm focusing on consumer and multi-unit businesses with an impressive portfolio of over 90 franchise brands. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect and build internal tools that enable data-driven insights across portfolio companies, collaborating with various teams to develop scalable solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy data-driven applications and internal web tools
- Manage cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and production environments
- Collaborate with data science and strategy teams to deliver scalable, maintainable systems
- Drive best practices across CI/CD, security, and observability
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth and technical standards
Requirements:
- 7–8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field
- Strong proficiency in Python (core language across all systems)
- Experience with GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for deployment and orchestration
- Working knowledge of SQL and database administration
- Some exposure to JavaScript; willingness to expand front-end experience
- Background in data infrastructure, ETL, or analytics-heavy systems
- Proven ownership of infrastructure — from local dev to production deployment
- Familiarity with Fivetran or dbt
- Masters Degree is a plus
