Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking an Arc Flash Program Engineer / Electrical Engineer to join their Data Center Mission Critical Division. The role involves analyzing complex power systems, developing studies for major data center clients, mentoring less experienced engineers, and achieving business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and/or provide oversight for short circuit calculations, medium and low-voltage coordination evaluations to optimize protective relay and breaker settings, and arc flash studies in compliance with NFPA, IEEE 1584, and other industry standards
- Develop or modify power system models to accurately reflect the designed and/or as-built site conditions
- Develop and execute standards for power system studies and calculations across groups/offices
- Perform on-site data collection activities as needed (document protective device types and associated settings, develop and document single lines and confirm loading information such as motor HP, full load amps, locked rotor amps, etc.)
- Prepare error-free engineering documents (e.g., drawings, sketches, instructions, inputs, calculations, analyses, evaluations) according to and bounded by industry codes, standards, and regulations to support client engineering needs
- Perform QA/QC on engineering deliverables performed by others
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to obtain required inputs, elevate roadblocks, and develop innovative solutions
- Maintain up-to-date and relevant knowledge of industry codes and standards, safety culture, and design/analysis techniques suitable to the data center industry
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Typically requires 3+ years of experience with power system studies using electrical modeling software (SKM Power Tools, ETAP, Easy Power, etc.) for mid-level candidates, and 6+ years of experience for a senior role
- PE License or ability to obtain within 2 years of employment (incentive bonus available)
- Experience in electrical codes, standards, and criteria for power systems and data centers (NFPA 70 & 70E, and IEEE 1584)
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite including, but not limited to, Word and Excel
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to listen to clients and identify opportunities for growth
- Leadership skills with strong aptitude for mentoring, motivating junior engineers, and developing a strong culture
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to travel 10%-20%; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a few weeks
