They are seeking an IT Cloud Engineer to design, deliver, and support enterprise cloud solutions, ensuring compliance with architectural standards and collaborating with development teams.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that enterprise cloud solutions are designed, delivered, and supported
- Develop internal and external compatibility of the system and subsystems
- Develop moderately complex scripts using a tool or combination of tools to automate a task or a series of tasks
- Develop and comply with SLAs or OLAs
- Document new or modified solutions, installation instructions, and other system-related information
- Write configuration for cloud platforms leveraging appropriate tools
- Collaborate with developers and be responsible for the 'Ops' part of DevOps
- Develop and maintain tools and frameworks that other teams use to smoothly develop their applications
- Use technology to implement automation and orchestration
- Develop, build, or implement cloud solutions based on business and technology considerations to satisfy customer needs
- Integrate cloud solutions with existing enterprise tools and systems
- Ensure compliance of cloud solutions to architectural standards
- Perform evaluations of enterprise cloud technology standards, tools, products, and solutions to identify opportunities for improvement
- Work with information security to ensure Cloud solutions support maintenance of a secure technology environment
- Assist with planning and validating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Cloud solutions
- Support compliance of role-based access control (RBAC), cost containment, and cloud provider account management
- Assist in developing time and cost estimates for cloud solutions
- Develop, review, and modify Cloud systems specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility
- Participate in evaluation of technical requirements to determine the impact of Cloud technologies on the infrastructure including equipment redundancy and capacity requirements
- Support and maintain the physical design for cloud-based solutions for infrastructure and platforms
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 3 years' experience with 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience, or Associate's degree with 5 years' experience with 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience, or HS/GED with 7 years of experience in a large, complex organization like Mayo Clinic may be considered in lieu of the degree
- Experience deploying and operating on a public cloud framework
- Ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical ability and data-driven mindset
- Ability to rapidly acquire new knowledge and skills
- Familiarity with service design and pricing in the context of cloud-based solutions
- Experience with cloud deployment, technical and security architecture, database architecture, virtualization, software design, software development, IP networking, Linux, Agile development, SCRUM, application lifecycle management, .NET, programming languages, technical solution architecture, SOA, Windows Azure, Amazon AWS
- Certification in cloud engineering is required within 12-24 months
