ERG is a research and consulting firm that provides a wide range of support to federal, state, and commercial clients. They are seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead and support water infrastructure projects, working directly with communities to assess needs, develop projects, and access funding.
Responsibilities:
- Independently assessing community water and wastewater infrastructure needs and identifying practical solutions
- Developing clear, well-organized planning documents and technical reports (e.g., Preliminary Engineering Reports)
- Preparing preliminary and detailed project designs that municipalities can use to secure infrastructure funding
- Leading meetings with community stakeholders to gather information, present recommendations, and build project support and engagement
- Depending on your experience and background, you may also contribute to additional project areas, such as evaluating and promoting innovative water and wastewater treatment technologies, analyzing the design, cost, and environmental impacts of infrastructure projects, or supporting other related technical efforts
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state, or the ability and commitment to obtain a PE license within 12 months of hire
- 5+ years of relevant experience in municipal water or wastewater system planning and design, with exposure to a variety of treatment systems
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with funding, financing, and governance frameworks for Capital Improvement Programs
