LANXESS is a leading specialty chemicals company with about 12,000 employees in 32 countries. The Sales & Account Manager will be responsible for promoting sales of higher volume chemical products, maintaining customer relationships, and negotiating commercial terms. The role involves customer demand forecasting, new customer development, and participation in trade shows.
Responsibilities:
- Promote sales of FFR higher volume products, e.g. Benzoul Chloride, Benzyl Chloride, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzoic Acid and Benzyl Benzoate; customer demand forecasting & develop sales tactics based on the agreed global marketing strategies for all assigned customers. New customer development and generating sales funnel
- Responsible for maintaining (resolve issues, document customer communication, provide forecasts, present weekly sales updates and preform day to day account maintenance) and enhance relationships with existing customers
- Negotiate short and long term commercial terms of business and provide technical insights to customers. Negotiate multi-annual sales contracts where applicable based on BU strategies. Management of executed contracts and customer relationship
- Collect information on industry trends and customer activities to further marketing and sales efforts
- Attend trade shows and contribute to its organization including both duties, participate in sales and technical training
Requirements:
- BA, BS Degree or Equivalent Sales Experience
- 5-10 years of experience working in a sales role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have the ability to effectively convey ideas, corporate/business messaging and/or value propositions in a one on one and/or group environments
- Must be computer proficient with expertise in the use of Microsoft office software package (powerpoint, excel and word)
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, and create an environment of trust and comfort with our customer base
- Experience in Flavors & Fragrances Market, or industrial chemical sales an advantage
- Leadership, project management & international experience of advantage
