OSI Engineering is a global consumer device company seeking a Reliability Engineer for their Hardware Reliability Engineering team. The role involves executing reliability tests, identifying hardware integration issues, and performing failure analysis to enhance product reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Development and execution of detailed test plans and compilation of test and failure data
- Statistical data analysis to provide risk assessments for product design
- Research failure modes for new technologies to perform extensive FMEA (Failure Modes & Effect Analysis)
- Prioritizing and completing tasks to meet deadlines
- Providing design recommendations to cross-functional teams to improve product reliability
- Interacting with a wide variety of individuals and teams to communicate results
Requirements:
- Experience performing reliability testing including Mechanical Stress Tests, Shock/Drop/Vibration Testing, and Environmental Tests
- In-depth understanding of failure analysis techniques (Optical Microscopy, X-Ray, SEM/EDS, FTIR, XPS, etc.)
- Knowledge of JEDEC/IPC standards for semiconductor package qualifications
- Extensive experience with silicon product-level reliability qualification, associated failure modes, and lifetime behavior modeling
- Extraordinary problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide concise summaries to senior executives and drive in-depth discussions with cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail to drive architecture in early project phases
- Efficient time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Dynamic and “can-do” attitude with collaborative spirit and product enthusiasm
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or an equivalent field
- Master's or PhD
- Experience with semiconductor packages or consumer electronics is a plus
