LECO is a leader in the development and production of laboratory instruments. They are seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide maintenance, repairs, upgrades, installations, and training on analytical and metallographic instrumentation, primarily in the South-Central Region of the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Perform analytical instrumentation installations, and train on theory, operation, software, and good maintenance practices
- Perform preventive/general maintenance
- Perform breakdown/repair services
- Perform hardware/software updates and upgrade kit installations
- Maintain accurate inventory records, expense reports, and vehicle logs
- Attend instrumentation training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan for a period of 3-5 months
- Complete field service training by working alongside experienced Field Service Engineers throughout the country
- Attend annual service training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan
Requirements:
- Reside within primary coverage area of the position
- Ability to travel weekly with up to four overnight stays depending on workload
- Ability to attend 3-5 months of training in St. Joseph, MI
- Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to crouch, stand, and lift without restriction
- Self-motivated, having the accountability to work remotely with limited supervision
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Pass a background check and substance abuse screenings
- Must be authorized to work in the US without restriction
- Should have a personal credit card, or the ability to obtain one
- Strong mechanical skills
- Previous experience with AC and DC electronics, or the ability to learn
- One or more of the following: Two Year Technical Degree, Trade School, Prior Military with Training in a Technical Field, Equivalent Work Experience or Training in a Technical Field
- Chemistry background is advantageous, but not required
