About this role
Clay is a company focused on helping organizations turn growth ideas into reality through creativity and innovation. They are seeking a Frontend Software Engineer who will be responsible for building user-facing products, driving product strategy, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the frontend experience.
Responsibilities:
- Drive product strategy and execution. You’ll work with a team of engineers and cross-functional partners across design, data science, and GTM to define a product strategy and drive execution through conception, research, implementation, and maintenance
- Design and build product features. You'll work on a fast pace team designing and building complex frontend features that deliver exceptional user experiences across web platforms
- Up-level the frontend codebase. Negative maintenance is one of the core values at Clay. You'll contribute to the performance/reliability of the Clay frontend and help increase development velocity of other engineers through component architecture, performance optimizations, and best practices
- Mentor and learn from other engineers. You’ll help the team grow by mentoring other engineers in areas that you’re strong in. In return, you’ll also learn from other engineers with different strengths
Requirements:
- 4+ years of hands on engineering experience building world-class products
- Ability to drive and own products from end to end
- Empathetic communicator who expresses nuanced ideas clearly at different levels of abstraction for different audiences
- Ability to collaborate with others to ship high quality, thoughtful features
- Care about craft and translate the solution into bug free, easily understandable code
- Belief that having people with different backgrounds and perspectives creates a better team and a more holistic product
- Familiarity with the current tech stack or ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly
- Experience with React, Typescript, Python, Node.js
- Familiarity with AWS services: Aurora (Postgres), Elasticache (Redis), Elastic Container Registry (ECR), ECS (Fargate), Lambda, OpenSearch
- Experience with IaC: Terraform
- Familiarity with deployment tools: CircleCI, Netlify, Playwright
- Experience with observability tools: Cloudwatch, Datadog, Mezmo
