Outlive is a company focused on translating the principles of Medicine 3.0 into a practical product that helps individuals improve their long-term health. As a DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the cloud infrastructure that supports their mobile, web, and backend systems, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and reliable.
Responsibilities:
- Design, provision, and maintain GCP infrastructure using Terraform Cloud
- Manage environments across staging and production with strict isolation
- Operate and optimize:
- Cloud Run
- Cloud Functions
- Cloud SQL (Postgres)
- Cloud Tasks
- Implement secure secrets management using GCP Secret Manager
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Fastlane
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging using GCP Ops Suite and Sentry
- Design backup, recovery, and data retention strategies
- Partner with backend engineers on deployment patterns and scaling strategies
- Ensure infrastructure supports HIPAA-aligned security practices
- Understand and support frontend user experience goals through infrastructure improvements and collaborative system design
- Help accelerate the work of your software engineering colleagues by building a robust platform and automation to support iterative software development
Requirements:
- 5+ years of DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Deep experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Experience operating production systems with high reliability requirements
- Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, and networking concepts
- Strong familiarity with all aspects of encryption management
- Strong familiarity with managing cloud compute platforms (serverless and provisioned)
- Experience supporting healthcare or regulated workloads
- Experience with self-hosted analytics platforms (e.g., PostHog)
- Familiarity with cost optimization strategies on GCP
- Experience designing disaster recovery and incident response playbooks
- Sysadmin experience, or hands on experience securing and administering Linux servers in a cloud environment
