Keystone Recruitment is seeking a Health and Safety Engineer to contribute as a subject matter expert for AI training initiatives. In this remote role, you will leverage your industry expertise to annotate real-world scenarios, refine AI understanding, and ensure models reflect professional safety standards across multiple sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in occupational health and safety engineering for AI training purposes
- Review, analyze, and annotate real-world procedures, documentation, and scenarios to enhance AI model understanding of safety protocols
- Provide expert feedback on AI outputs, ensuring alignment with industry safety standards and compliance practices
- Collaborate with AI teams to identify gaps in model knowledge and recommend actionable improvements
- Communicate complex health and safety concepts clearly in both written and verbal formats
- Assist in the development of comprehensive training materials reflecting best practices and regulatory requirements
- Stay informed on emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in health and safety engineering to inform AI learning objectives
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations (excluding mining safety)
- Proven experience applying safety engineering principles across industrial or commercial environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote setting
- Comfortable using digital collaboration tools and engaging with AI technology
- Professional certification (CSP, CIH, or equivalent)
- Experience in AI, data annotation, or technology-driven training projects
- Graduate degree in a relevant engineering or safety discipline
