STAND 8 Technology Consulting provides IT solutions to enterprise partners and is seeking a Project Manager to lead journalist training and broadcast talent development programs. The role involves planning, executing, and delivering training initiatives while ensuring operational excellence and collaboration with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and execute journalist training initiatives from concept through delivery
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and resource requirements
- Coordinate cross-functional contributors including editors, producers, HR partners, and external trainers
- Track risks, dependencies, and delivery status; proactively resolve issues
- Ensure training programs are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with newsroom priorities
- Manage the rollout of onboarding and ongoing training curricula for new-hire journalists
- Partner with editorial leaders to translate newsroom standards and workflows into training materials
- Oversee development of training assets including workshops, playbooks, simulations, and asynchronous modules
- Ensure consistency, quality, and relevance of training content across teams and locations
- Serve as the central point of coordination for training initiatives and stakeholder communication
- Communicate timelines, progress, risks, and outcomes to senior stakeholders
- Gather feedback to inform continuous program improvement and document best practices
- Support newsroom transformation initiatives through structured training delivery
- Help introduce new tools, workflows, and technologies through managed training programs
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in broadcast journalism, newsroom operations, media training, or related fields
- Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects
- Strong understanding of newsroom workflows, editorial standards, and live production environments
- Experience coordinating training, onboarding, or professional development programs
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Former journalist, editor, producer, or newsroom operations leader
- Project management certification or formal training (PMP, Agile, or equivalent)
- Experience in adult learning, instructional design, or curriculum implementation
- Familiarity with digital-first or multi-platform newsroom operations
- Comfort facilitating workshops or training sessions
