One North is a digital experience agency that combines curiosity, scale, and agility to shape the future. They are seeking an experienced Product Design Lead who will craft enterprise web and mobile experiences, own end-to-end product design work, and partner closely with engineering and product teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead product design for enterprise web and mobile applications from discovery through delivery, translating research into user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes
- Drive research-informed decisions by synthesizing user research, usability testing, analytics, and stakeholder input into clear design direction and prioritized product improvements
- Design and iterate high-fidelity interfaces optimized for multiple devices, form factors, and accessibility requirements
- Own design system strategy and execution: evaluate, evolve, and operationalize component libraries, tokens, patterns, and documentation to ensure consistency, scalability, and developer handoff quality
- Maintain Figma governance: organize workspaces, files, libraries, components, and versioning; define naming conventions, branching workflows, and contribution guidelines
- Collaborate across disciplines: partner with researchers, product managers, engineers, QA, and client stakeholders to align on scope, feasibility, and delivery timelines
- Facilitate workshops and presentations: lead client working sessions, design reviews, and roadmap conversations; present original work and rationale to stakeholders
- Measure and iterate: define success metrics for design changes, run experiments or usability tests, interpret results, and iterate efficiently
- Mentor and oversee the work of Product Designers and Senior Product Designers
- Serve as Lead subject matter expert with client stakeholders
Requirements:
- Proven track record designing enterprise web and mobile products with high-fidelity deliverables and measurable impact
- Expert command of Figma, including Auto Layout, Variables, Dev Mode, advanced prototyping, component variants, and library management
- System architecture playbook that defines component boundaries, token strategy, responsive rules, and accessibility constraints aligned to product goals
- Developer-ready handoff artifacts, including code references and collaboration patterns, that enable engineering to implement components reliably
- Governance plan with contribution workflows, release cadence, and changelogs that balances consistency with product flexibility
- Design-ops toolkit to streamline Figma libraries, automate repetitive tasks, and boost team efficiency with templates, plugins, and documentation
- Outcome-first approach that prioritizes system work to reduce engineering effort, accelerate design velocity, and improve user metrics
- Self-starter mentality to push the vision for our clients
- Collaborative mindset that thrives in multi-disciplinary teams, including Client Services, Strategy, and Technology
- 8 or more years of product and design systems experience in-house, at a consultancy, or in an agency environment
- Deep understanding of design systems, including tokens, components, documentation, versioning, and cross-team governance
- Strong accessibility expertise with practical experience applying WCAG guidelines to product interfaces
- Solid technical literacy in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript concepts and responsive design patterns (coding not required)
- Experience working in Agile product teams and familiarity with common UX inquiry methods such as usability testing and moderated research
- Exceptional visual design skills, including typography, color, layout, and interaction design
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to present design rationale to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Portfolio that demonstrates strategic thinking, complex problem solving, and polished, production-ready UI work
- High standards for craft and attention to detail
- Dedication to following industry best practices and trends
