The Senior Project Manager in the Program Management Office is responsible for delivering complex projects that drive business and organizational change, utilizing strong leadership and communication skills to manage relationships with stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and execution of highly complex, cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and PMO standards
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, resources, and risk mitigation strategies
- Implement and maintain effective project governance
- Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, escalating concerns as needed
- Track project progress, monitor performance, and take corrective actions to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery
- Build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders at all levels, including sponsors, business teams, IT teams, and vendors
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders and project teams to ensure alignment and understanding of project goals and progress
- Communicate project updates, risks, and issues effectively to business and technology stakeholders through regular reports, meetings, and presentations
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment
- Lead and motivate project teams, providing guidance, support, and direction to achieve project goals
- Delegate tasks effectively, monitor team performance, and provide constructive feedback
- Contribute to continuously improving PMO methodologies, tools, and templates
- Mentor project managers in the organization
- Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; completing compliance training and adhering to internal procedures and controls; reporting any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and reporting any suspicious customer and/or account activity
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work or military experience
- 5 years experience as a Project Manager with proven experience managing large, complex enterprise projects with multiple stakeholders
- Deep understanding of project management methodologies and tools with demonstrated ability to apply the appropriate approach based on project needs
- Strong knowledge of Organizational Change Management (OCM) practices
- Extensive experience with project management scheduling tools such as MS Project
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage relationships across multiple groups, including Business, Product, Compliance/Risk, and Information Technology
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret project data to track progress, identify trends, and make informed decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely convey information to diverse audiences, including project team members, stakeholders, and senior management
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport, establish trust, and collaborate effectively with individuals from different backgrounds and departments
- Proven ability to think critically, analyze problems, and develop creative solutions to overcome project challenges
- Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- Project management experience in the Banking and/or Financial Services sector
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Slides, Chat, Spaces, etc.)
- Experience with Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence, as well as Timelines and/or Advanced Roadmaps
