ECS is a leading mid-sized provider of technology services to the United States Federal Government, and they are seeking a Cloud Engineer to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) DCCO contract. The Cloud Engineer will provide technical leadership, manage the design and operations of a multi-tenant cloud platform, and mentor junior engineers while enhancing delivery processes across teams.
Responsibilities:
- Independently applies a wide set of engineering disciplines for planning, design, analysis, coding, testing, roll-out and support of information systems architectures
- Continuously optimizing AWS Cloud platform services across all integration points
- Interact closely with key project stakeholders to design, plan and implement operationally sustainable solutions
- Work closely with the technical team to deliver proposed designs
- Provide thought and design leadership
- Serve as a technical SME for cloud services, providers, and platforms
- Lead solution architecting sessions evaluating tradeoffs between design, risk, and cost
- Problem solves challenges as they arise
- Adapt designs to new requirements or discoveries
- Leverage data driven approach to continuous solution, organization, and workforce improvement
- Optimizes performance across multiple teams by suggesting delivery process transformation towards evolving best practices based on each team and project context
Requirements:
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant filed
- 5+ years' experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be able to pass a Public Trust investigation
- Related experience including a broad background in various technology solutions, including: Cloud Services, Infrastructure Automation, DevSecOps, Open-Source Ecosystems, Application Programming, Service Oriented Architecture, Enterprise Architecture
- Demonstrates a deep working knowledge of all aspects of Cloud Development Platforms including IT operations, virtualization, containerization, networking, storage, disaster recovery, security policy and controls implementation, system management, and data migration
- Demonstrates expertise in enterprise solution design, SOA models and approaches to enterprise cloud solutions, and promotion of architecture principles along with conducting research in specific technology areas and being up-to-date with the latest of industry trends on application architectures
- Possesses significant expertise in the existing cloud computing technology: public, private, and hybrid, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
- Proficiency in Linux and Ansible
- Demonstrates very good written and oral presentation skills and outstanding client-interaction skills
- Thinks creatively and demonstrates the ability to work independently, or with a group, on complex tasks with little direction, supervision, and management oversight
- Experience with Akamai
- AWS Solution Architect certs are nice to have
