Atlas Connections is a leading developer and operator of large-scale data centers specializing in AI and high-performance computing infrastructure. They are seeking an experienced Data Center Electrical Engineer to design, implement, and maintain high-reliability electrical infrastructure for AI/GPU data center environments.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and review electrical designs for data center infrastructure, including power distribution, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, PDUs, RPPs, and busway
- Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers, Architects, and IT teams to align electrical design with overall facility requirements
- Establish design parameters consistent with project scope and objectives
- Perform technical evaluations, electrical engineering studies, and prepare associated reports
- Develop standards and playbooks for consistent and efficient deployment of electrical systems
- Perform detailed load calculations and analysis including on-site generation, critical versus facility loads, battery systems, equipment efficiencies, and fault current
- Collaborate with engineering consultants through all design phases: Owner Project Requirements, Basis of Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Issue for Pricing, Permitting, and Construction
- Maintain accurate as-built drawings and electrical documentation
- Utilize AutoCAD, REVIT, and BIM software (experience highly valued)
- Support Basis of Design (BoD) development and design review meetings
- Develop and adhere to electrical specifications, details, drafting standards, and MEP coordination protocols
- Prepare documents and specifications for planning, engineering, and design of critical, essential, and non-essential power systems; lighting, control, monitoring, fault current, protective relay schemes, and fire alarm systems
- Review and respond to bid submissions, shop drawings, and construction questions
- Review contractor submittals and shop drawings
- Support commissioning activities and verify system performance
- Witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for electrical equipment
Requirements:
- 7+ years of electrical engineering experience
- Minimum 3+ years in commercial construction and/or data center projects
- Strong expertise in document control systems, change order processes, and construction project management tools
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, complex builds with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with competing priorities
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Technology, or related field (required)
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or Project Management
- Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, or LEED Accreditation
