Boulevard is a client experience platform for appointment-based, self-care businesses. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers to develop impactful products that enhance client communications through various channels, ensuring businesses can foster deeper relationships with their clients.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of 5-8 engineers across various experience levels
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning
- Partner with Product Management and Design to define and deliver team roadmap
- Drive technical excellence through code reviews and architectural guidance
- Build a high-performing team culture focused on collaboration and growth
- Manage team delivery, removing blockers, and ensuring successful execution
- Contribute to hiring, interviewing, and onboarding new team members
- Participate in on-call rotation and lead incident response when needed
- Balance hands-on technical contribution with team enablement
Requirements:
- 5+ years of software development experience with 2+ years of people management
- Proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams
- Strong technical background with the ability to provide architectural guidance
- Experience with agile development and delivery management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Track record of building inclusive, high-performing teams
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity for your team
- Experience with remote team management and async collaboration
- Previous experience in B2B SaaS or marketing platforms
- Background in payment systems, scheduling, or commerce platforms
- Experience with Elixir, React, or similar technologies
- MBA or advanced degree in a related field
