Duolingo is dedicated to making education universally accessible and is seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead the Current User Retention Team. This role involves owning the product roadmap, driving features from ideation to execution, and leveraging data to enhance user retention and engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Own the team’s roadmap, from idea to execution
- Drive product features through their entire creative cycle: ideation, specification, development, release, analysis, and iteration
- Dig deep into data and external research to explore and validate feature ideas
- Drive product strategy for the team in close partnership with executive leadership
- Partner closely with product designers to ensure a fun, useful user experience in our product
- Work with engineers to help guide feature development, from the feasibility of a new feature to a new affordance that we haven’t taken advantage of yet
- Perform experiment analysis on features to be immediately turned into opportunities for future optimization

Requirements:
- Experience generating outstanding results as a Product Manager at a consumer mobile app
- Experience building and executing on roadmaps that enhance existing features while also creating net new features that have significant impact
- Ability to act independently, driving alignment up and down within the organization without waiting to be told what to do
- Ability to dig into an experiment to identify data and insights that inform meaningful decisions
- Appetite for throughput - you can't wait to ship the next experiment, both to drive impact and to start learning about how your change impacted the user experience
- Desire to find and assess patterns or features from other apps or games that can be adapted and applied to Duolingo
- Experience working closely with product design to create simple and intuitive user experiences that still ship impact
- Experience leading product teams of engineers, designers and even other PMs
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Design, Psychology, or equivalent
- Advanced degree in Business, Computer Science, Design, Psychology, or equivalent
- Experience working on growth and retention feature sets in mobile games or gamified products
- Experience leading a team that shipped 50+ experiments a quarter
