AI Engineer

Kadence is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and scale document intelligence systems. The role involves creating production-grade pipelines that enhance the accuracy and quality of AI outputs in a legal tech environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design and scale document ingestion and processing pipelines across PDFs and structured/unstructured data
• Build and productionize LLM-powered workflows for extraction, classification, summarization, and validation
• Improve model accuracy, reliability, latency, and cost efficiency
• Partner closely with product and engineering to translate customer problems into shipped AI features
• Implement evaluation frameworks, monitoring, and feedback loops to drive continuous improvement
• Own features end to end from early prototype through production and iteration

Requirements:

• Strong Python engineering skills with experience writing production-quality, well-tested code
• Applied ML experience, particularly in NLP or document-focused AI systems
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs, including structured outputs, retrieval, tool or function calling
• Comfort owning ambiguous problems and driving them to production
• Product-minded approach with a bias toward shipping, learning, and iterating quickly
