Google is a leading technology company, and they are seeking a Data Center Electrical Engineer to join their Data Center Services team. This role involves overseeing the design, construction, and commissioning of complex electrical distribution systems to ensure high-quality project delivery and compliance with standards.
Responsibilities:
- Define data center system-level, product architecture, and research and development, while helping to develop operations and maintenance procedures for systems/processes
- Conduct engineering analysis and research designs and methods of data center equipment and facilities
- Ensure designs and installations meet requirements (e.g., predicted cooling, structural, operational concerns, etc.)
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction
- Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of utility electrical distribution systems in mission critical facility design and construction environments
- Experience in electrical infrastructure
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant field or a professional engineering license or a Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of high voltage substations, medium or low voltage electrical distribution systems, AC/DC systems, and associated power management or SCADA tools
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g., structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, architectural)
- Experience in prefabrication/modular
- Experience working with data center equipment and environments (e.g., switchgear, generators, transformers, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems)
- Understanding of start up/commissioning processes
