Backend Engineer (GenAI & Data Infrastructure)

Randstad Digital Americas is seeking a Backend Engineer to join their innovative engineering team focused on developing GenAI tools for trend research. The role involves working on data infrastructure and generative AI to manage a large library of images and documents used for design ideation.

Responsibilities:

• This candidate will work side-by-side with data scientists and backend engineers to build, tune, and instrument core infrastructural components of our GenAI ecosystem, specifically storage, hybrid indexing and search components to organize a multi-modal library of images and documents used daily by trend researchers within the company

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience
• Expert-level fluency in Python and its associated ecosystem
• Strong experience with Open/Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, and data cleaning/tagging for AI
• Deep understanding of GenAI patterns (LangGraph, LangChain, RAG, and Context Engineering)
