MASA is a leader in emergency medical transportation insurance, and they are seeking a Director of Application Engineering & Development to shape the future of their application ecosystem. The role involves leading enterprise application development teams, defining strategy, and ensuring platforms deliver meaningful business impact while balancing hands-on technical leadership with strategic execution.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing application engineering and QA teams across onshore and offshore models, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
- Define and execute the application engineering strategy aligned with business objectives and enterprise architecture
- Own the full lifecycle of applications built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Azure, balancing feature delivery, scalability, platform stability, and technical debt reduction
- Drive agile program execution across multiple teams using Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid frameworks, ensuring predictable and high-quality releases
- Provide technical leadership across architecture, integration, APIs, reporting solutions, and DevOps/CI/CD practices
- Ensure application platforms are AI-ready and aligned with Microsoft’s AI and Copilot strategy in partnership with Architecture, Data, and Security teams
- Establish engineering standards, delivery governance, and performance metrics while communicating status, risks, and dependencies clearly to senior stakeholders
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in software development and application engineering, with at least 5+ years leading development teams
- Proven expertise with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Azure, and enterprise application reporting solutions
- Experience managing distributed and offshore teams while maintaining high engagement and performance standards
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD practices within cloud-based environments
- Familiarity with Azure data concepts, data visualization, and integration best practices; experience with SQL Server and legacy platforms is a plus
- A strategic, player-coach leadership style that balances technical depth with team development and execution excellence
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
