Atlas Connections is a specialized recruiting firm focused on placing top-tier talent in data center infrastructure and construction engineering roles. They are actively recruiting Electrical Engineers at multiple levels to work on mission-critical power distribution design and engineering for hyperscale and colocation data centers.
Responsibilities:
- Mission-critical power distribution design and engineering for hyperscale and colocation data centers
- Medium-voltage and low-voltage switchgear, transformers, and utility interconnections
- UPS systems, generators, paralleling gear, PDUs, busway, and STS/ATS configurations
- Redundancy architecture design (2N, N+1, Catcher/Isolated Redundant, etc.)
- Electrical studies including arc flash, short circuit, coordination, and load flow
- Construction phase services — submittal review, RFI response, contractor coordination
- Commissioning support, FAT/SAT witness testing, and system performance verification
- Cross-disciplinary coordination with mechanical, controls, and IT teams
- Projects ranging from 50MW to 200MW+ across new builds, expansions, and retrofits
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in data center, mission-critical, or critical infrastructure electrical design and/or construction
- Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, critical power equipment, and redundancy concepts
- Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, IEEE, and Uptime Institute Tier standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical design and analysis tools
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed (varies by role)
- Experience with construction phase services, commissioning, or owner's engineering is a plus
- PE license preferred but not required for all roles
- DCIS, PMP, LEED, NFPA 70E, or OSHA certifications are valued
