Atlas Connections is focused on mission critical engineering design for data centers, and they are seeking Senior Mechanical Engineers with expertise in data center design. The role involves designing mechanical systems, performing HVAC load calculations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on live-site renovation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Design air-side and water-side mechanical systems for data centers
- Perform HVAC load calculations
- Support facility assessments and live-site renovation projects
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Interface directly with clients and contractors
- Lead mechanical system design for hyperscale and AI data centers
- Develop chilled water, cooling tower, pump, and HVAC infrastructure
- Support design through construction phases
- Collaborate with development and capital partners
- Contribute to large-scale MW campus projects
- Design air-side systems (DX, AHUs, ductwork, CRAHs)
- Design water-side systems (chillers, cooling towers, pumps, piping)
- Develop phasing plans for live environments
- Mentor junior engineers
- Collaborate with architects, commissioning agents, and CMs
Requirements:
- Must have U.S. Work Authorization (No sponsorship available)
- Minimum 3+ years of data center mechanical design experience required
- Candidates must provide specific examples of prior data center projects, including size (MW/sq ft) and scope
- Ability to discuss specific prior projects (MW size, cooling type, redundancy model, etc.)
- Strong understanding of mission critical uptime requirements
- Licensed Professional Engineer (Mechanical) in at least one state
- 10+ years of experience
- Minimum 3+ years data center mechanical design
- Experience working in active/live mission critical facilities
