GE Aerospace is a prominent player in the aerospace industry, seeking a Lead Supplier Quality Engineer for their Controls and Accessories commodity. The role focuses on driving Product Quality Engineering activities, managing supplier quality assurance and development, and ensuring adherence to industrial standards of excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Drive Product Quality Engineering (PQE) activities for assigned suppliers within the Controls and Accessories commodity
- Own supplier results, drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards
- Includes both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development with a focus on Product Quality Engineering
- Includes supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence
- Production approval ownership for hardware within the Controls and Accessories Organization including components such as electronics, mechanicals, fluid systems, air systems, valves, actuators, etc
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
- May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements
- Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field
- Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues
- Uses some judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems
- Has ability to prioritize information for data analysis
- Uses technical experience and analytical thinking
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years (quality) experience + minimum of 3 years (quality) experience)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Established project management skills
