The role involves guiding modernization across enterprise platforms and building a high-performing engineering organization for delivering mission-critical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead globally distributed engineering teams building enterprise‑grade data and infrastructure software
- Drive modernization of complex, long‑standing enterprise platforms and hybrid compute environments
- Guide major architectural decisions for high‑performance, high‑reliability data systems used in large-scale enterprises
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, quality, and accountability
- Partner with Product, Customer Success, and Sales leadership to ensure alignment across roadmap, architecture, and customer needs
- Define engineering performance standards, metrics, and goals to ensure delivery reliability and operational efficiency
- Recruit, develop, and mentor engineering leaders and senior technical talent
- Drive process improvements, automation, and scalability throughout the engineering organization
Requirements:
- 15+ years of software engineering experience, with 8–10+ years in senior engineering leadership roles
- Deep experience delivering software for enterprise‑grade data platforms, transaction‑heavy systems, or large‑scale infrastructure technologies
- Proven leadership experience with Db2 development or similarly complex, deeply entrenched enterprise data systems
- Familiarity with heritage enterprise platforms widely used in regulated industries (financial services, insurance, government, etc.)
- Background working with mature enterprise data environments or tools with long-term industry adoption
- Demonstrated success modernizing complex, legacy codebases and transitioning them into modern architectures
- Experience leading high‑performing, global engineering teams
- Strong architectural and strategic thinking, with the ability to connect engineering execution to business outcomes
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across executive stakeholders
- Proven ability to scale engineering processes, drive automation, and increase efficiency
- Experience implementing or scaling AI assistant tools (e.g., AI code assistants, documentation copilots, or similar) within engineering teams is a strong plus
