The Business Controls Analyst Senior role involves ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies, monitoring risk management practices, and serving as a liaison between various business units and internal audit functions.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of control assessments, programs, and controls to ensure compliance with regulations, rules, and risk management standards
- Analyze, evaluate, and review risk management practices organization-wide, including activities at network affiliates, to enhance the control environment
- Interpret and analyze data affecting technical, operational, and business functions, providing insights into practical impacts and implications
- Provide guidance on Control Standards to ensure documentation aligns with compliance requirements
- Participate in risk program functions such as Compliance Risk Assessments, Key Risk Indicators review, Issue Management, and Operational Losses, offering risk and control perspectives
- Coordinate with 2nd Line of Defense reviews and engage with Compliance Testing teams to support testing activities and remediations
- Contribute to fostering a robust risk culture by designing and implementing preventive and detective controls, particularly concerning Entertainment Banking activities
- Work closely with the 1st Line of Defense Testing team to understand compliance observations and ensure appropriate remediation actions are taken
- Act as a liaison for business teams regarding risk management, compliance, legal engagement, and audit activities, representing the Business Control Office at internal meetings
- Build and maintain strong relationships across all organizational levels to facilitate effective risk management and control practices
- Develop and deliver compelling communication materials and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders
- Prioritize organizational risk management objectives and participate in special projects and audit activities as needed
- Support enterprise-wide initiatives in credit underwriting and portfolio management, emphasizing risk and control focus
- Identify opportunities for process improvements related to internal controls and mitigation strategies, recommending enhancements to departmental procedures
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required
- A minimum of five years of experience within or related to financial services, including auditing, risk management, control functions, or finance consulting
- At least five years of experience applying risk management methodologies
- Three years of advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- CRM certification
- Extensive experience in complex problem-solving
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Knowledge of financial services, project management, and operational change initiatives
- The ability to influence change, communicate effectively, and manage multiple priorities under pressure
