Dayforce is a global human capital management company that offers a unified Cloud HCM platform. They are seeking a skilled Cloud Automation Engineer to design, build, and manage operational lifecycles of event-driven systems and cloud automation pipelines, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage highly available and scalable event-driven architectures leveraging Kafka and related technologies
- Lead the automation and optimization of infrastructure and application workflows across cloud platforms
- Ensure operational stability and performance of event infrastructure including monitoring, alerting, and incident response
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and platform teams to define best practices around event messaging and cloud automation
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines to support event services
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, middleware, and application issues in production and non-production environments
- Contribute to architecture decisions and documentation regarding event infrastructure strategy
Requirements:
- Must be a US citizen
- Ability to obtain US security clearance
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or systems architecture roles
- Strong expertise in Kafka (design, administration, monitoring, tuning)
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure and AWS
- Solid understanding of event streaming, messaging patterns, and real-time data pipelines
- Proficient in scripting and automation using tools such as Terraform and Python
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with a focus on reliability and observability
- Experience with schema management (e.g., Confluent Schema Registry)
- Knowledge of microservices and service mesh architectures
- Exposure to containerization and orchestration platforms like Docker and Kubernetes
- Certifications in cloud technologies or Kafka are a plus
